Paul is an American business and social entrepreneur who has held various positions before becoming CEO at Apptical Corp.
Paul began his career in 1987 at List Industries. He implemented Material Requirements Planning II (MRP II) where three predecessors with a combined 60 years of data processing experience had been unsuccessful.
While at List Industries, he earned his MBA from Nova Southeastern University in Fort Lauderdale, Florida until he founded Apptical in 1988. Apptical provided data processing services for Credit Unions. Paul led the implementation of numerous solutions including data on demand in 1992 and an upgrade from microfilm to image storage in 1998. The data processing operation was acquired in 2001 by Intercept, a publicly traded company.
In 2002, Apptical acquired the Assets of JR Health, a teleunderwriting provider serving Life Insurance companies. The firm had had no automation relying on pen and paper to collect data, file cabinets for storage, fax for communications and a basic a phone system with cassette tape recorders by each phone. Paul designed and developed the initial version of Apptical’s telephone interview platform from the ground up. After teaching himself to object oriented programming, he was the system architect and wrote every line of code for Apptical’s three flagship products: LiveApp, SoundDecisions, and PURE. Some of the products are still in use at the firm today. In 2010 Paul added nine software development positions to the company and currently oversees the team as they develop and enhance the succeeding version of the company’s flagship products.
Paul has performed various duties as a volunteer at Ronald McDonald’s Children’s Charities, The American Cancer Society, The Boca Raton Youth Athletic Association, The Soccer Association of Boca Raton, Boca Hoops, and currently sits on the Board of Directors of The Best Foot Forward Foundation.
Paul currently resides in Boca Raton, Florida, with his wife and three sons.
